Still Picking Perfectly

Just like what should have happened if any of the Pittsburgh Pirates were good as they were facing Vicente Padilla on Opening Day, I (along with 98.2% of all mock drafters) am batting .1000 after three at-bats. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Gerald McCoy, defensive tackle out of Oklahoma.

Reaction: The more penetrating of the two stud defensive tackles, McCoy is a great fit for any team playing the 4-3 defense. He should be able to wreck havoc from snap one. With the NFC South becoming a pass happy division (see: Saints, New Orleans), it is crucial to get pressure with as few players as possible. With McCoy on their line, the Bucs should be able to do so.

Prediction: Mike Shanahan’s first pick as the ‘Skins new coach is Eric Berry, safety from Tennessee.
